Epe has marked a milestone in religious and community development with the commissioning of the Alhaja Nofiat Adetoun Adeyemi Central Mosque, built in memory of the late Alhaja Nofiat Adetoun Adeyemi.

Epe Insights reports that the mosque, located near the Berger Bridge T-Junction, drew Islamic scholars, clerics, family members, and well-wishers who came together to witness the solemn and celebratory event.

The project was initiated by her children as a Sadaqah Jariyah, ensuring ongoing spiritual reward and preserving their mother’s legacy of faith and service to the Epe community.

The late Alhaja Adeyemi was widely recognized for her dedication to Islamic growth and humanitarian efforts, leaving a lasting impact on the community.

Speaking at the commissioning, her son, M.O. Adeyemi, described the mosque as a fulfillment of their commitment to uphold their mother’s values. “Our mother lived a life devoted to Islam and service to humanity. This mosque is a reflection of her legacy,” he said.

Islamic scholar Suleiman Faruq Onikijipa commended the family for the initiative, emphasizing that building a mosque is a noble act that continues to yield rewards in the hereafter while serving as a center for worship and learning.

He also led prayers for the late Alhaja Adeyemi, asking Almighty Allah to grant her Aljanah Firdaus and forgive her shortcomings.

The commissioning featured spiritual reflections, prayers, and goodwill messages from attendees, who praised the family for creating a meaningful and impactful tribute to their mother.

The mosque is expected to serve as a lasting center for religious devotion and community engagement, strengthening Islamic education and fostering unity within Epe.
