More than 3,000 residents across 21 communities in Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA) have benefited from the October edition of the RBK Monthly Food Palliative Distribution, a welfare initiative spearheaded by the Executive Chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE).

EpeInsights reports that the programme, aligned with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, aims to cushion the economic hardship faced by families and ensure that vulnerable residents receive consistent food support.

Speaking during the latest distribution exercise, Engr. Kasali reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting inclusive welfare and improving living standards across Lekki communities.

“Our goal is to bring relief directly to our people,” he said. “We understand the realities of the economy, and this is one of the ways to stand by our residents and show that government truly cares.”

The October edition saw the distribution of 3,003 bags of rice across 21 communities including Tiye, Imobido, Ilege, Orijeru, Idasho, Magbon-Segun, Itoke, Idotun, Okunraye, Olomowewe, Origanrigan 2, Osoroko, Ajegunle, Oju-Oto, Lekki, Ebute-Lekki, Siriwon, Igbekodo, Apakin, Otolu, and Folu.

Residents expressed gratitude for the consistent support. Mrs. Morenike Idowu from Ebute-Lekki said the initiative has become a vital lifeline for many families.

“We appreciate our Chairman for remembering us every month. Things are tough, but this food support makes a big difference,” she said.

Community leaders described Engr. Kasali as a “leader with empathy and vision” who has consistently demonstrated people-centered governance since assuming office.

Looking ahead, the council chairman disclosed plans to expand the RBK initiative beyond food palliatives to include skill acquisition and empowerment programmes. According to him, this next phase will help residents develop sustainable livelihoods and reduce dependency on aid.

“We are focused on programmes that promote self-reliance, community growth, and inclusive development across Lekki LCDA,” Kasali added.Kasali Empowers 3,000 Lekki Residents with Monthly Food Palliatives, Plans Skill Programmes
