The Office of the Executive Chairman, Epe Local Government, has strongly refuted a forged document currently circulating on social media, purportedly showing the academic credentials of Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI.
EpeInsights reports that in an official statement released on Tuesday, the Council described the document as “fake, fraudulent and a calculated attempt by desperate individuals to mislead the public and tarnish the image of a distinguished leader whose record of service and integrity remains unblemished.”
According to the statement, Hon. (Princess) Animashaun’s academic records are verifiable and authentic.
She attended Baptist Primary School, Ijero, Lagos State, where she completed her studies in the 1984/1985 set and later Jubril Martins High School, Iponri, Lagos State, graduating with the 1991 set.
Members of the public were encouraged to visit these institutions for independent verification.
The statement further noted that before her election as Executive Chairman, all her credentials underwent rigorous verification by the Department of State Services (DSS), the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) and other relevant government agencies.
“All her documents remain genuine, consistent and transparent, a testament to her integrity, credibility, and long-standing commitment to excellence in public service,” the statement read.
The local government also issued a stern warning to those behind the forgery, describing their actions as criminal and punishable under Nigerian law.
It disclosed that the process to identify and prosecute the perpetrators had already begun.
“We will no longer take it lightly with anyone involved in spreading such deliberate falsehood. Enough is enough,” the statement warned, adding that individuals who continue to share or repost the fake document after the publication of the rejoinder would face legal consequences.
The Council urged the public to disregard the fake results, emphasizing that the smear campaign was the handiwork of those threatened by the steady progress recorded under Princess Animashaun’s administration.
“Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, remains a beacon of purposeful leadership, a leader driven by integrity, vision and results. No falsehood, however loud, can overshadow the truth or diminish the legacy of progress she continues to build in Epe and beyond,” the statement concluded.
