The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Eredo Local Branch, has joined the global community in commemorating International Youth Day, with this year’s theme: “Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond.”

EpeInsights reports that in a statement signed by its Coordinator, Comr. Adekunle Oluwaseyi A., the Council commended the energy, creativity, and resilience of young people in Eredo LCDA, describing them as active changemakers who continue to drive grassroots transformation.

The Council noted that the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are not distant targets, but practical objectives achievable when local communities take ownership.

It highlighted the efforts of Eredo youths in areas such as community clean-ups, skill development programs, inclusive advocacy and innovative projects, stressing that they have consistently proven to be not only leaders of tomorrow but leaders of today.

“The strength of our youth lies in their diversity, unity, and unrelenting drive to make Eredo better,” the statement read.

“By embracing inclusivity, ensuring every voice is heard, and valuing every idea, our youths are building a sustainable and people-driven future that goes beyond the SDGs.”

The Council urged Eredo youths to remain passionate, visionary, and committed to positive change, reminding them that their local actions have global impact.

“To all great and positive-minded Eredo youths, your ideas matter, your actions matter, you matter. The world is watching, and your impact is shaping a brighter future,” Comr. Adekunle said.

He concluded with a rallying call: “Build the Youth, Build the Nation!”
