The Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA) is set to begin enforcement against indiscriminate parking across Lagos roads starting Monday, July 28, 2025.

EpeInsights reports that the announcement was made by the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, during the monthly fitness walk organized by his office.

He explained that the enforcement exercise will begin within government premises, specifically the State Secretariat in Alausa and the Old Secretariat in Ikeja, before extending to other parts of the state.

According to him, starting within the public service will help set the right tone and encourage broader compliance.

The Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Office, Mrs. Olasunkanmi Oyegbola, also addressed the issue, calling on civil servants to support LASPA by adopting a proper parking culture.

She urged them to spread the message among colleagues and friends, noting that anyone found violating parking regulations should not seek intervention from her office or the Office of the Head of Service.

During a sensitization briefing, the General Manager of LASPA, Mrs. Adebisi Adelabu, highlighted the importance of compliance in ensuring a more organized and efficient Lagos. She stated that poor parking practices contribute significantly to traffic congestion and road safety concerns.

According to her, LASPA’s enforcement efforts aim to make the roads safer, reduce congestion, and improve the overall experience for both motorists and pedestrians.

Mrs. Adelabu expressed appreciation for the support LASPA has received from state officials and reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to introducing a disciplined parking culture across Lagos. She warned that the agency would not tolerate any acts of non-compliance with the parking regulations.

The enforcement campaign is part of LASPA’s broader mission to create a more orderly and accessible city environment for all residents.
