The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has reiterated his administration’s commitment to improving infrastructure as he visited Lakowe community to inspect key project sites slated for road and drainage construction.

EpeInsights reports that the Chief Press Secretary to the Chairman, Akadiri Ayorinde in a statement noted that Hon. Olowa during the visit, inspected the proposed site for a drainage project to be executed by the Office of Drainage Services (ODS) of the Lagos State Ministry of Environment.

The drainage system is designed to serve as the outfall drain for the Oribanwa-Lakowe School Gate Road, channeling stormwater into the canal at Losoro, thereby addressing persistent flooding in the area.

The inspection comes ahead of the commencement of a 500-metre road project between Lakowe School Gate and Oribanwa, which is to be constructed by the Local Government Council.

Hon. Olowa, who was accompanied by the Leader of the Legislative Council, Hon. Mojeed Oluwafemi Olayinka, and contractors handling both projects, assured residents that the projects will improve mobility, boost connectivity and bring long-term relief from incessant street flooding.

“We made a promise to the people of Lakowe and Oribanwa two months ago during our first inspection and today, we are making good on that commitment,” said Hon. Olowa.

Representatives of the construction firm handling the road project, Otus Engineering Company, were also present during the inspection.

The Council Chairman emphasized that the project aligns with his administration’s broader agenda of delivering tangible, people-centered infrastructure across Ibeju-Lekki.Hon. Olowa Inspects Proposed Road, Drainage Projects in Lakowe Community
