The Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) will debut a special documentary titled “Your Voice, Your Vote, Our Mandate” on Lagos Television (LTV) tonight, Friday, July 11, 2025, at 9:00 PM.

EpeInsights reports that this move is to boost civic awareness and encourage grassroots democratic participation in the 2025 Local Government Election.

The broadcast comes ahead of the Lagos Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LG/LCDA) elections scheduled for Saturday, July 12, 2025.

The documentary aims to educate residents on the importance of their participation in local governance and highlight LASIEC’s ongoing efforts to ensure transparent and credible elections across the state.

The program will be accessible on; DSTV Channel 256, GoTV Channel 120 and Startimes Channel 113.

According to LASIEC’s Media and Publicity Committee, the production offers viewers a behind-the-scenes perspective on how the Commission has prepared for the elections from logistics and stakeholder engagement to voter education and outreach across 20 Local Government Areas and 37 LCDAs of Lagos State.

“This is not just a documentary, it’s a call to action,” said a LASIEC official.

“We want Lagosians to see how their votes directly shape their communities and local development.”LASIEC Documentary to Air on LTV, Promoting Participation in 2025 LG Elections

Featuring interviews with electoral officials, community leaders, and voters, the film underscores LASIEC’s commitment to transparency and inclusive governance.

It also stresses the vital role of local elections in driving community development, service delivery and grassroots decision-making.

The Commission is urging all eligible residents to tune in to the program and, more importantly, turn out to vote on election day.

“Grassroots governance begins with informed voting,” the Commission stated.

“We encourage every resident to participate actively in shaping the future of their immediate communities.”

This initiative is part of LASIEC’s broader public engagement campaign aimed at increasing voter turnout and fostering a culture of active civic responsibility.
