In a show of unity and strategic mobilization ahead of the July 12 Local Government elections, the Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Hon. Akogun Wale Raji Anomo, alongside his Local Organising Committee (LOC) members and the six elected councillors, paid homage to all six royal fathers across the LCDA.
EpeInsights gathered that the visit, described as both symbolic and spiritual, aimed to seek royal blessings and galvanize traditional support for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming polls.
Each Oba received the delegation warmly, assuring the team of their continuous support toward community development and democratic progress.
Speaking during the visit, Chairman of the LOC, Otunba Nurudeen Yusuf, extended heartfelt appreciation to the royal fathers for their unwavering support — particularly during the recent purchase of the nomination form for the Executive Chairman.
He urged the monarchs to encourage their subjects to come out en masse and cast their votes for APC, emphasizing that every vote counts.
“Our performance at the polls will not only reflect our strength as a community but will also influence future developmental strides, including the creation of new local government areas in Lagos State,” Otunba Yusuf said.
Also lending his voice, Hon. Dr. Onanuga Samsondeen echoed the call for a massive voter turnout, stressing the critical importance of local participation in shaping the future of the LCDA.
The visit underscores a deep-rooted synergy between traditional institutions and political leadership in Ikosi-Ejinrin, reinforcing the shared commitment to progress, representation, and inclusive governance.
As the countdown to the elections continues, the royal blessings and grassroots mobilisation are expected to further boost confidence and participation across the LCDA.
