The Lagos-based institutions celebrated their 51st anniversary and Founder’s Day with staff and learners, paying tribute to late education pioneer Madam Bosede Idehen.
Springfield Private School and Bosede Idehen International Academy have marked 51 years of educational service with a Founder’s Day celebration at their school premises in Abule Egba, Lagos, honouring the legacy of their late founder, Madam Bosede Idehen.
The celebration brought together members of the management team, teachers, other staff members and learners, who participated in activities organised to commemorate the milestone.
The anniversary provided an opportunity for the school community to reflect on the institution’s journey, celebrate their achievements and recognise the enduring influence of their founder’s vision.
Madam Bosede Idehen, remembered for her contributions to private education, established a legacy that continues to shape the institutions’ commitment to learning, character development and service.
Her daughter, Mrs Maureen Idehen Ovabor, who currently leads the institutions, continues to uphold the educational values and vision upon which the schools were founded.
Unlike the elaborate celebration held for the 50th anniversary, the school community observed the 51st anniversary, allowing management, staff, and learners to share in the occasion.
One highlight of the celebration was the Proprietress, Mrs Maureen Idehen Ovabor, distributing ice cream to learners. The gesture added a cheerful touch to the event, as pupils joined in the festivities.
Beyond the celebration, the anniversary highlighted the collective efforts of the management and staff in sustaining the institution’s educational mission and providing an environment where learners can develop academically and personally.
The milestone also underscored the importance of preserving the founder’s legacy while preparing learners to meet the demands of an evolving educational landscape.
Guided by the motto, “Knowledge, Honour, Service,” Springfield Private School and Bosede Idehen International Academy reaffirm their commitment to nurturing learners with the knowledge, discipline and values needed to contribute meaningfully to society.
As the institutions look ahead, their 51st anniversary stands as a tribute to their history and a renewed commitment to the education and development of future generations.
