Eredo LCDA Hosts 2026 Preliminary Spelling Bee

Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has hosted the 2026 Preliminary Spelling Bee Competition, bringing together pupils and students from schools across the council area.

Epe Insights reports that the competition was organised as part of Eredo LCDA’s continued efforts to promote educational excellence, develop young talents and provide students with opportunities to demonstrate their academic abilities.

The competition tested participants’ spelling proficiency, vocabulary, confidence and intellectual ability.

It also provided an avenue for identifying outstanding pupils and students who will represent Eredo LCDA at the state-level competition.

In the primary school category, Bello Rofiat, Contestant 001 of RCM Primary School, Odomola, emerged as the winner.

Opeyemi Ogooluwa, Contestant 023 of RCM Primary School, Odoragunshin, finished as the first runner-up.

Rasaki Abdulsalam, Contestant 012 of RCM Primary School, Mojoda, took the second runner-up position.

The secondary school category also produced impressive performances from participating students.

Akinyede Blessing, Contestant 023 of Igbooye Community Senior School, Igboye, emerged as the winner.

Akinola David, Contestant 012 of Okemagba Senior School, Mojoda, secured the first runner-up position.

Bodunrin Halimah, Contestant 010 of Adesonwon Junior Secondary School, Ilara, emerged as the second runner-up.

The successful contestants demonstrated strong knowledge and confidence throughout the competition.

Their performances earned them recognition among the participating schools and provided them with an opportunity to advance to the next stage of the competition.

The winners will now represent Eredo LCDA at the state level.

They are expected to carry the hopes and pride of the council as they compete against other outstanding students from across Lagos State.

The preliminary competition also highlighted the academic potential of pupils and students within Eredo LCDA.

It provided a platform where young learners could showcase their abilities beyond the regular classroom environment.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Eredo LCDA, Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, was represented by the Vice Chairman, Hon. Lateef Adesanya.

Akinloye commended all the participants for their impressive performances and determination throughout the competition.

He also praised the students for displaying confidence while responding to the spelling challenges.

The chairman urged the participants to remain focused on their education and continue working towards academic excellence.

He stressed that knowledge and excellence remain important foundations for future success.

Akinloye also encouraged the successful contestants to approach the state-level competition with the same determination and confidence they demonstrated at the preliminary stage.

The council’s support for the competition reflects its broader commitment to encouraging educational development among young people in Eredo LCDA.

For the participating schools, the competition provided an opportunity to identify and encourage students with strong academic potential.
