Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, has called for stronger collaboration between government, communities and faith-based organisations to support national development.
Epe Insights reports that Hamzat made the call while participating in The Companion’s 7th National Discourse held at the University of Lagos.
The event brought together members of The Companion, scholars, faith leaders and other stakeholders for discussions on Nigeria’s development and the role of faith-based organisations in society.
Hamzat said national progress requires more than the formulation of sound policies.
He noted that good governance must also be supported by strong character, responsible citizenship and meaningful cooperation between government and communities.
According to the Deputy Governor, faith-based organisations have an important role to play in promoting values that can contribute to national development.
