Hon. Olowu Celebrates Isese Day

The APC candidate for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Engr. Abiola Okanlawon Olowu, FNSE, has felicitated Indigenous Traditional Believers across the constituency on the occasion of the 2026 Isese Day celebration.

Epe Insights reports that Olowu, popularly known as OKL, described Isese as an important part of Yoruba identity, values and community life.

The engineering professional said cultural heritage remains an important foundation for preserving the identity and values of the Yoruba people.

He noted that traditional values promote respect, truth, harmony and peaceful coexistence among members of society.

According to Olowu, Ibeju-Lekki’s cultural heritage remains one of its major strengths and should be preserved for future generations.

He urged Indigenous Traditional Believers across the constituency to mark the celebration peacefully and responsibly.

Olowu also encouraged traditional worshippers to use the occasion to reflect on the values that unite the people of Ibeju-Lekki.

He called for prayers for unity, progress and prosperity across Ibeju-Lekki and Lagos State.

The APC candidate stressed that cultural celebrations provide an opportunity for communities to appreciate their roots and strengthen relationships.

He said the preservation of Yoruba heritage should remain a collective responsibility involving traditional institutions, families, youths and community stakeholders.

Olowu further reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the preservation of Yoruba culture and traditions.

He maintained that cultural heritage and modern development can work together in building a stronger society.

According to him, development should not come at the expense of the cultural identity of the people.

He therefore encouraged younger generations to learn more about their history, traditions and cultural values.

The Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I candidate said young people have an important role in keeping Yoruba heritage alive.
