Light Up Epe: Rep. Raji Flags Off New Solar Lighting Phase

The Member representing Epe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tasir Olawale Raji, has flagged off an additional 1,000 solar-powered street lights under the Light Up Epe Project.

Epe Insights reports that the latest intervention is aimed at extending street lighting to more communities across Epe Federal Constituency, with particular attention to riverine areas.

Raji disclosed that communities in Wards B1, C1 and D1 would receive special consideration under the latest phase of the project.

He assured residents that no community within the constituency would be left behind in the distribution of the solar-powered street lights.

The lawmaker said the project was designed to address infrastructure needs while improving visibility across communities during the evening and night hours.

He noted that improved street lighting could also support residents who engage in legitimate economic activities after sunset.

The Light Up Epe Project is part of Raji’s constituency interventions aimed at improving infrastructure and the general living conditions of residents.

The lawmaker emphasised the importance of ensuring that communities in riverine areas also benefit from development projects.

He said the inclusion of Wards B1, C1 and D1 would help extend the impact of the project to communities that require greater attention.

Raji assured residents that the implementation would be carried out with the objective of achieving broad coverage across the federal constituency.

He maintained that every community deserves access to infrastructure that can improve daily life.

The lawmaker also addressed the condition of the solar-powered borehole at Shagari Estate, Epe.

He pledged to restore the facility after it was vandalised, assuring residents that efforts would be made to return the borehole to service.

Raji said the restoration would help improve access to water for residents of the estate.

He noted that the welfare of constituents remains central to his approach to representation.

The lawmaker highlighted other development interventions being pursued across Epe Federal Constituency.

According to him, the projects are designed to address different needs across communities and improve residents’ quality of life.

He said constituency representation should go beyond legislative duties and include interventions that respond to practical community needs.

Raji also stressed the importance of equitable distribution of development projects.

He said riverine communities would continue to receive attention as part of efforts to ensure balanced development across the constituency.

The lawmaker’s emphasis on Wards B1, C1 and D1 reflects his stated commitment to reaching communities across different parts of Epe Federal Constituency.

He urged residents and community stakeholders to support projects in their areas and ensure that public facilities are properly protected.

Raji also called for collective responsibility in safeguarding infrastructure provided for the benefit of residents.

He noted that vandalism of public facilities affects the entire community and can delay the delivery of essential services.

The planned restoration of the Shagari Estate borehole is expected to provide relief to residents who depend on the facility.

The solar street-light project is also expected to improve visibility along roads and streets covered by the intervention.

For riverine communities, the expansion represents an opportunity to benefit from additional infrastructure support.

Raji reiterated that the objective of the Light Up Epe Project is to extend the benefits of improved lighting to communities across the constituency.

He said the latest 1,000 solar-powered street lights would complement previous efforts under the project.

The lawmaker expressed confidence that the intervention would make a positive difference in communities where the lights are installed.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to engaging with residents and community leaders to identify priority areas.

According to Raji, regular engagement is important for ensuring that constituency projects respond to actual needs.

He said his office would continue to work towards attracting interventions that can contribute to development across Epe Federal Constituency.

The lawmaker further encouraged residents to take ownership of completed projects and help protect them from damage.

He maintained that sustainable development requires cooperation between government representatives and the communities they serve.

The Light Up Epe Project has therefore entered another phase with the flag-off of an additional 1,000 solar-powered street lights.

With special attention directed towards Wards B1, C1 and D1, the project is expected to extend lighting infrastructure to more communities.

Raji’s pledge to restore the Shagari Estate borehole also adds another dimension to the intervention.

The combined efforts are expected to support infrastructure development, community wellbeing and improved living conditions across Epe Federal Constituency.

The lawmaker reaffirmed that his development agenda would continue to focus on reaching communities across the constituency.
