The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area, Wale Anomo, has called on residents to participate actively in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise organised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Epe Insights reports that the chairman encouraged all eligible residents across the six political wards of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA to take advantage of the registration exercise and secure their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) before the deadline.

According to Anomo, the Continuous Voter Registration exercise provides an opportunity for Nigerians who have attained the age of 18 to register as first-time voters.

He explained that the exercise also allows registered voters to transfer their registration to Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA where necessary.

The chairman noted that residents who have lost or damaged their Permanent Voter Cards can also apply for replacements during the exercise.

He added that eligible voters who wish to update or correct their personal information in the voter register should also utilise the registration period.

Anomo described participation in the electoral process as one of the most important civic responsibilities of every Nigerian citizen.

He said the Permanent Voter Card represents more than an identification document, describing it as a constitutional right and an essential tool for democratic participation.

According to the chairman, active participation in elections enables citizens to contribute meaningfully to governance and community development.

He urged residents not to wait until the final days of the registration exercise before visiting designated INEC registration centres.

The chairman encouraged eligible voters to follow the approved registration timetable to ensure a smooth and efficient process.

Anomo stressed that broad participation in the voter registration exercise would strengthen democratic representation within the council area.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to promoting civic responsibility and encouraging greater public participation in governance.

The chairman noted that increased voter registration helps build stronger democratic institutions and encourages inclusive decision-making.

He appealed to community leaders, youth groups, religious organisations and other stakeholders to help mobilise eligible residents for the exercise.

He noted that voter registration is an important step towards shaping the future of communities through peaceful and democratic participation.

The chairman advised residents to visit only officially designated INEC registration centres to complete their registration.

He also reminded intending registrants to provide accurate information during the exercise to ensure a credible voter register.

Residents seeking transfers or corrections were encouraged to complete the required procedures within the registration period.

The chairman expressed confidence that the people of Ikosi-Ejinrin would demonstrate their commitment to responsible citizenship by participating fully in the exercise.

He reiterated that every eligible vote contributes to strengthening democracy and promoting good governance.

Anomo concluded by urging residents not to miss the opportunity to register, update their details or replace damaged voter cards before the exercise closes.

He encouraged every qualified resident to make their voice count by participating in the Continuous Voter Registration exercise and preparing for future elections.
