Sanwo-Olu Reassures Lagos Residents on Safety and Security

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reassured residents and visitors that Lagos remains safe, secure, and open for investment and international engagement.

Epe Insights reports that the Governor gave the assurance following a State Security Council meeting held on Tuesday, ahead of the ongoing Invest in Lagos 3.0 international summit.

He noted that the state continues to attract strong investor confidence, with both foreign and local participants actively engaging in opportunities to expand or establish businesses in Lagos.

According to him, the successful hosting of the Invest in Lagos 3.0 summit reflects the stability and readiness of the state to support large-scale economic activities.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that security agencies remain fully engaged in safeguarding residents, visitors, and critical infrastructure across the state.

He added that Lagos will continue to maintain vigilance to ensure that safety and public confidence are sustained.

During the engagement, the Governor arrived from the State House, Marina, alongside members of the State Security Council and service chiefs.

In a symbolic gesture at the summit, he acknowledged the presence of service chiefs and asked them to stand for recognition, drawing applause from participants.

The Governor reiterated that Lagos remains committed to providing a secure environment for business, tourism, and investment activities.

The meeting was attended by senior military and security officials, including Brigadier-General Ayokunle Owolabi, Commander of the 9 Brigade.

Also present were Commander A. Adams-Aliyu of the Nigerian Navy Ship Beecroft and Air Commodore Mohammed Imam, Commander of the 651 Base Services Group, Ikeja.

The Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, was represented at the meeting by Deputy Commissioner of Police Adesina Lawal.

The Director of the Department of State Services (DSS) also participated in the security council deliberations.

Security chiefs reviewed ongoing operations and reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining peace and stability across Lagos State.

Officials noted that inter-agency collaboration remains key to sustaining the state’s reputation as one of Africa’s safest commercial hubs.

The Governor commended the efforts of all security agencies and urged continued cooperation to ensure Lagos remains safe for all residents and investors.

He concluded by reaffirming his administration’s commitment to strengthening security architecture and sustaining investor confidence in the state.
