The Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) has continued its strategic engagement with Civil Society Organizations on the implementation of the Executive Order on Mandatory Social Health Insurance, with strong participation from Epe stakeholders.

Epe Insights reports that the third phase of the engagement brought together representatives from Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ikorodu, and Kosofe LGAs, with Epe participants playing an active role in the discussions on expanding health insurance coverage.

The session was held at the Teaching Service Development Centre, Owutu, Ikorodu, and focused on strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders in the health sector.

It also aimed at deepening awareness of the ILERA EKO Health Insurance Scheme and improving community-level understanding of its benefits.

Epe representatives contributed to discussions on how to enhance uptake of the health insurance programme within local communities.

Stakeholders emphasized the importance of inclusive participation in achieving universal health coverage across Lagos State.

LASHMA officials reiterated that the engagement is part of efforts to ensure effective implementation of the Executive Order on mandatory social health insurance.

They noted that civil society groups play a critical role in driving awareness and encouraging residents to enroll in the ILERA EKO scheme.

Participants from Epe highlighted the need for stronger sensitisation at grassroots level to ensure more residents benefit from the programme.

The discussions also focused on removing barriers to enrollment and improving access to affordable healthcare services.
