His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Ogunlaja, the Aladeshoyin and Paramount Ruler of Odo-Noforija Kingdom, has spoken on the passing of the late Oba Adeshina Sulaimon Adebowale, the Omola of Odomola Kingdom.

Epe Insights reports that the monarch made the remarks during an interview with Epe Lawa, where he reflected on the life, legacy, and cultural significance of the late traditional ruler.

Oba Ogunlaja described the late Omola as a dedicated custodian of culture and tradition who served his people with commitment and integrity.

He noted that the sudden death of the monarch came as a shock to communities across Eredo Local Council Development Area and the wider Epe Division.

The Aladeshoyin explained that the mourning period influenced the suspension of the annual Ojude Oba celebrations across several communities in Eredo LCDA.

He stated that traditional customs require respect for departed royal fathers, especially during the transition period of a monarch.

According to him, the Ojude Oba festival, usually held on the second day of the Ileya celebration, was set aside as a mark of honour for the late Omola.

Oba Ogunlaja emphasized that monarchs do not mourn in the conventional sense but observe cultural rites that reflect dignity and respect.

The royal father also addressed ongoing discussions around the leadership structure among traditional rulers in the division.
