The Lagos State Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs has commended the administration of Hon. Monsuru Akinloye Ismail over ongoing developmental projects and governance efforts across Eredo Local Council Development Area.

Epe Insights reports that the commendation came during an official monitoring and assessment visit by a delegation from the Ministry led by Mr. Solesi Ayodele, Director at the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs.

The monitoring team assessed various departments, units, and operational structures within the council as part of the state government’s periodic evaluation of local government performance.

During the exercise, principal officers and management staff of Eredo LCDA were engaged in interactive sessions designed to assess administrative efficiency, service delivery, and operational knowledge.

Members of the team also embarked on physical inspections of completed and ongoing projects executed under the administration of Hon. Akinloye Ismail across different communities within the council area.

The delegation expressed satisfaction with the level of infrastructural development and grassroots governance witnessed during the visit, particularly considering the suburban nature of Eredo LCDA.

According to the monitoring team, the council demonstrated commitment to community-based development and effective utilization of local government resources.

Special attention was given to the education sector, where the team praised the administration for its investments in public primary schools across the council area.

Officials disclosed that all the eighteen public primary schools under the council’s jurisdiction have benefitted from infrastructural improvements initiated by the present administration.

The projects reportedly include renovations, educational support initiatives, and learning environment upgrades aimed at improving basic education within Eredo LCDA.

The monitoring team particularly commended the “Back to School Programme” introduced by the administration of Hon. Akinloye Ismail.

The initiative, which has now entered its fifth consecutive year, involves the annual distribution of educational materials to pupils at the beginning of every academic session.

Observers described the programme as one of the council’s notable interventions in supporting access to quality education and easing the burden on parents.

The delegation also noted that the educational initiatives reflect the council chairman’s commitment to strengthening learning opportunities for children across the LCDA

Beyond education, the team evaluated the activities of the Department of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation within the council.

The department received commendation for its empowerment-focused programmes and efforts aimed at supporting vulnerable groups within the community.

However, the monitoring officials encouraged the department to intensify public advocacy and ensure broader inclusiveness in the implementation of people-oriented programmes.

Discussions during the session also highlighted ongoing and proposed welfare initiatives targeted at widows and widowers within Eredo LCDA.

The monitoring team advised the council to continue expanding support systems that directly impact women, vulnerable residents, and economically disadvantaged groups.

Council officials used the opportunity to present details of empowerment schemes, social intervention programmes, and community support initiatives currently being implemented across the area.

Residents and stakeholders who spoke during the visit expressed appreciation for the developmental strides recorded under the present administration.

Many described the projects as visible evidence of grassroots governance and responsive leadership at the local government level.

Community leaders also commended the state government for sustaining monitoring exercises aimed at ensuring accountability and improved performance among local councils.

Political observers believe that regular project inspections by the ministry help strengthen transparency, encourage quality service delivery, and promote healthy competition among local governments in Lagos State.

The commendation from the ministry is expected to further boost confidence in the administration’s developmental agenda within Eredo LCDA.

Hon. Monsuru Akinloye Ismail has consistently emphasized community development, education support, infrastructural growth, and social welfare as key priorities of his administration.

The council boss has also maintained that sustainable grassroots governance remains essential to improving the living conditions of residents across the local council area.

As developmental projects continue across Eredo LCDA, residents have expressed hope that the administration will sustain its efforts toward improving public services and community welfare.

The visit by the Ministry of Local Government and Community Affairs further reinforces the importance of accountability, project monitoring, and effective local governance in Lagos State.
