Lekki Local Council Development Area has progressed plans for its proposed Agro Food Hub with a high-level inspection at Otolu Modern Market.
Epe Insights reports that officials from the Lagos State Ministry of Agriculture visited the site, with the Permanent Secretary, Emmanuel Fatai Audu, representing the Honourable Commissioner, Abisola Olusanya.
The council chairman, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali, was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Bukola Lawal, who led the local delegation during the inspection.
During the visit, the proposed site for the Agro Food Hub was formally presented to the state officials for evaluation.
The Permanent Secretary commended the initiative and praised the strong turnout of community stakeholders.
He assured that the state government remains committed to delivering a modern and efficient market system.
He also referenced similar successful agro-market projects implemented across Lagos State.

Speaking on behalf of the chairman, Dr. Lawal reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to seeing the project completed.
She highlighted the hub’s role in strengthening local trade and improving economic activities.
The proposed facility is expected to enhance food storage, processing, and distribution within the LCDA.
It will also reduce the stress of transporting goods over long distances for traders and farmers.
The Supervisor for Agriculture, Adeleke Olabanjo, noted the enthusiasm among market women.

He explained that the project would provide easier access to markets and boost local income.
The engagement brought together key stakeholders, including market leaders and community representatives.
Participants included the Iyaloja General of Lekki LCDA, the Iyalaje of Ise Land, and leaders of the Hausa community.
Youth representatives also contributed to discussions on the project’s impact.
