The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of His Royal Majesty, AbdulGaniyu Adebowale Adegbesan, the revered Onise of Ise Land.
Epe Insights reports that the Chairman, in a solemn message on behalf of the government and people of Ibeju-Lekki, described the monarch’s transition as a significant moment in the history of Ise Land.
Hon. Olowa extended heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the Council of Chiefs, and the entire community. He noted that the loss of a traditional ruler represents the end of an era in the life of a people.
According to him, Oba Adegbesan’s reign was defined by unity, peaceful leadership, and dedication to preserving Yoruba culture and tradition. He commended the monarch’s steady guidance during periods of social and developmental change.

The Chairman emphasised that traditional institutions remain central to communal stability and identity. He stated that the throne symbolises not just authority, but also heritage, continuity, and cultural guardianship.
Reflecting on the late monarch’s legacy, Hon. Olowa said his influence would endure through the strengthened institutions, sustained harmony, and preserved customs achieved during his reign.
He added that the contributions of Kabiyesi would continue to shape the community long after his earthly departure, as legacy is measured by impact and service.
The Chairman offered prayers for the repose of the monarch’s soul. He also prayed for strength and resilience for the royal household and the people of Ise Land during this period of mourning.
Hon. Olowa concluded by urging the community to remain united and uphold the values of peace and cultural pride that characterised the late Oba’s reign.
