The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area has extended warm felicitations to Muslim faithfuls as the holy month of Ramadan begins.
Epe Insights reports that the Chairman congratulated Muslims in Ikosi-Ejinrin, Lagos State, and across Nigeria on the commencement of the sacred fasting period.
He noted that Ramadan fasting, observed for 29 or 30 days, begins following the sighting of the new crescent as announced by the Sultan of Sokoto.
According to him, Ramadan represents a season of self-discipline, devotion, and spiritual purification for adherents of Islam.
He described the holy month as a time that encourages kindness, generosity, and the giving of Zakat to support the less privileged in society.
The Chairman urged Muslim faithful to embody the virtues of patience, tolerance, and righteousness as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and guided by the teachings of the Holy Qur’an.
He also called on residents to use the period to offer prayers for Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Lagos State, and Nigeria.
The council boss prayed that Almighty Allah grant the faithful strength, good health, and steadfast faith throughout the fasting period.
He further expressed hope that prayers, fasting, and good deeds offered during Ramadan would be accepted.
The message concluded with warm wishes of Ramadan Mubarak to the Muslim community.
