The Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area has received officials overseeing the E-Birth Registration programme at the council secretariat to strengthen collaboration on birth registration.
Epe Insights reports that the delegation was led by the Lagos State Coordinator of E-Birth Registration, Engr. Emmanuel, alongside the Lagos State Focal Person, Mrs Owolomonse Falilat.
The visit focused on reviewing the ongoing E-Birth Registration exercise and identifying strategies to improve coverage across communities in Lekki LCDA.
Discussions highlighted the importance of accurate and timely birth registration in national planning, access to social services, and legal identity for children.
The visiting officials briefed the council leadership on current implementation efforts and challenges affecting registration uptake at the grassroots level.
They emphasised the need for stronger collaboration with local governments to enhance awareness and participation among residents.
The Lekki LCDA chairman welcomed the delegation and commended the initiative as a vital step toward strengthening civil registration systems.
He reaffirmed the council’s readiness to support programmes that promote child welfare and data-driven governance.
