The road stabilisation project was approved by the Executive Chairman of Lekki Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE) has progressed to an advanced stage with the completion of the base course and the spreading of crushed stone materials.

Epe Insights reports that the ongoing intervention covers 13 strategic community roads aimed at improving accessibility, connectivity and reducing hardship faced by residents across Lekki LCDA.

The roads captured under the project include Divine Academy Road, Mosque Road beside Apakin Primary Health Centre; Mosafejo Road; Kalesanmi Road, Oshoroko Primary School Road, Idotun Community Junior Secondary School Road; Ericson Hotel Itoke Road; Magbon Segun Vocational Centre Road, Lekuru Link to Idasho, Igbosewe to Idasho PHC Road; Imobido Phase 2; Itamarun to Apakin Road, and Itamarun Road.

According to officials, the contractor is currently spreading crushed stone on scarified and graded sections, particularly in areas such as Imobido Town, as part of the road stabilisation process.

Officials from the Lekki LCDA Works Department are actively supervising the project to ensure that the materials used meet the required engineering standards and that the construction complies with the approved specifications.

The intervention is part of the Chairman’s broader commitment to improving road infrastructure and enhancing the quality of life for residents within the council area.

Residents have expressed optimism that the project will significantly ease traffic congestion, improve access to schools, health centres, and businesses, and reduce vehicle damage caused by poor road conditions.

Engr. Kasali has consistently prioritised infrastructural development as a key pillar of his administration, with road rehabilitation and stabilisation forming a major component of ongoing projects across Lekki LCDA.
