The Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has engaged traditional rulers across the area on the importance of registering and collecting Permanent Voter’s Cards ahead of forthcoming elections.

Epe Insights reports that the strategic meeting was held at the Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Secretariat as part of efforts to strengthen grassroots participation in Nigeria’s democratic process.

Hon. Olowa stressed that widespread PVC registration is essential to deepening democracy and ensuring that eligible residents of Ibeju-Lekki have a voice in governance at all levels.

He explained that active voter participation remains a critical tool for promoting accountability, good governance, and inclusive development within communities.

Hon. Olowa commended the traditional rulers for their continuous support in key initiatives, including security enhancement, social welfare interventions, and community development programmes.

The traditional rulers, led by the Chairman of Baales in Council, Chief Adekunle Taiwo, expressed appreciation for the engagement and the Chairman’s proactive leadership style.

They reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the initiative and pledged to mobilise their communities effectively.

According to the monarchs, sensitisation activities will be intensified through town hall meetings, religious gatherings, and community associations.

They noted that grassroots mobilisation remains key to ensuring that residents understand the importance of obtaining their Permanent Voter’s Cards.

The rulers also emphasised the role of civic responsibility in sustaining democratic governance and community development.
