Eredo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), under the leadership of Hon. Ismail Monsuru Akinloye, has recorded another milestone in grassroots development with the successful completion of two solar-powered boreholes in Ilara Community and Eredo Community.

Epe Insights reports that the water projects are aimed at improving access to clean, safe, and sustainable water for residents, while reducing reliance on unsafe water sources and addressing long-standing water challenges in the affected communities.

Speaking on the development, Hon. Akinloye reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive service delivery, stressing that access to clean water remains a basic necessity for healthy living and sustainable development.

He stated that no community within Eredo LCDA would be neglected in the provision of essential amenities, particularly water infrastructure that directly impacts public health and quality of life.

The council chairman further disclosed that the water intervention programme is ongoing, with three additional solar-powered boreholes currently under construction in strategic locations across the LCDA.

According to him, the ongoing projects are located at Oriwu Street, Odo-Egiri; Thomson Street, Iraye; and LASU Road, Iraye, and are expected to further expand water access to more residents upon completion.

Hon. Akinloye explained that the use of solar-powered systems aligns with the council’s focus on sustainability, energy efficiency, and cost-effective infrastructure development.

He added that the projects form part of a broader development agenda aimed at ensuring residents have access to essential services close to their homes.

Community members have welcomed the projects, describing them as timely interventions that will ease daily water needs, improve sanitation, and promote better health outcomes.

The solar-powered boreholes underscore the Eredo LCDA administration’s commitment to sustainable development, grassroots inclusion, and people-oriented governance.
