Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has taken a major step to secure its public schools, as Executive Chairman Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa announced the immediate deployment of multi-agency security personnel across all learning institutions in the area.
Epe Insights reports that the initiative is designed to safeguard students, staff, and school property while promoting a safe environment for learning. The security team includes operatives from the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN), Ibeju-Lekki Community Corps (Folumo), Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and Nigerian Forest Security Services (Hunters).

According to Hon. Olowa, the coordinated deployment will ensure surveillance at school entrances, on the premises, and in the surrounding areas. He urged principals, teachers, and parents to fully cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activities promptly.

“Our children deserve a safe space to learn and grow. This administration will not compromise on the security of our students. We urge the public to support this initiative by staying vigilant,” the Chairman said.
He added that the move aligns with the council’s broader mission to enhance community security and create an atmosphere where education can thrive without fear.

“Safety of our students is non-negotiable. We remain committed to proactive measures that protect lives and secure educational facilities across Ibeju-Lekki,” Hon. Olowa affirmed.
