The Executive Chairman of Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA, Otunba (Akogun) Ikosi-Ejinrin, has officially launched the construction of Aledo/Owu Street in Owu-Ikosi Community, Ward F1, in a move set to improve connectivity and boost local economic activity.

EpeInsights reports that the new 300-metre-long, 6.5-metre-wide road will feature dual covered drainage systems and solar-powered streetlights, combining sustainability with safety for residents, traders and motorists.

Strategically linking Old Otta Road and Lateef Jakande Way, the project is expected to ease traffic and provide a key bypass route.

The flag-off ceremony was attended by notable local leaders, including the Council Manager, Chief of Staff, Council Treasurer and Ward Chairmen, among others.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Anomo emphasized the administration’s commitment to people-focused infrastructure that enhances quality of life.

“This project is more than just a road, it is a lifeline for commuters and businesses, reflecting our promise to deliver sustainable development,” he stated.

Community leaders praised the initiative, highlighting its potential to ease traffic, promote commerce and improve community living standards.

The project is scheduled for completion within three months and is expected to transform transportation and economic activity in the area.

With this project, the Anomo-led administration continues to demonstrate visionary leadership in the ongoing mission of “Changing the Narratives” across Ikosi-Ejinrin LCDA.
