A statement from the state Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the search led to the discovery of two locally fabricated pistols, 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition, 17 live cartridges, and an unregistered 1999 Toyota Camry believed to have been stolen.

Further investigation revealed that the arrested individuals are members of a gang previously listed on the police watchlist for various criminal activities across different parts of Lagos.

“The suspects are cooperating with investigators and have provided useful intelligence to help track down other gang members and accomplices,” Hundeyin said.

“Once investigations are concluded, they will be charged to court.”

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, Olohundare Jimoh, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to ridding the state of criminal elements.

He urged Lagos residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to law enforcement.

“This successful operation reflects our resolve to make Lagos safer for everyone,” CP Jimoh stated. “We will continue to intensify our efforts until criminality is eradicated from every corner of the state.”

Police say the suspects are linked to a known gang under surveillance for operations across several parts of Lagos.

They are currently in custody, assisting investigators as the probe continues.
