Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has approved the redeployment of Prince Segun Osinaike, Tutor-General and Permanent Secretary of Education District IV, to head Education District III.

EpeInsights learnt that the move has been described as both strategic and symbolic, particularly as the district includes the Epe Zone — where Osinaike began his teaching and administrative career.

Reacting to the announcement, Osinaike expressed gratitude to the governor for the trust placed in him and described the posting as a return to his roots.

“I am deeply honoured by the confidence His Excellency, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has shown in me,” he said. “This redeployment is more than a new assignment; it’s a homecoming to where my career first took flight. I am coming with renewed vigour and a greater commitment to excellence. We will push boundaries, inspire change, and light up The Glowing District with unmatched educational innovation.”

Reflecting on his tenure at Education District IV, Osinaike highlighted reforms that improved teaching standards, enhanced teacher welfare, and boosted student performance. He pledged to sustain and expand these achievements in his new role.

He also thanked the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, for his leadership and support, noting that it has contributed significantly to civil service reforms in the state.

Speaking about his recent Lagos State Long Service Award, Osinaike said the recognition serves as motivation to continue working diligently.

“The Long Service Award is not just a pat on the back; it is a challenge to keep striving, to keep giving more. In Lagos, the reward for hard work is truly more work — and I embrace it wholeheartedly,” he said.

Education stakeholders have welcomed the redeployment, expressing confidence in Osinaike’s leadership and alignment with the state’s THEMES Plus agenda.

His posting to District III underscores the government’s commitment to strengthening education across all zones and consolidating gains in the sector.
