Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with faith-based organisations to deliver impactful interventions in education, healthcare and social services across the state.
EpeInsights gathered that the governor gave the assurance on Tuesday when he received the leadership of the Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas, led by its President, Prince Adeniji Kazeem (SAN), during a courtesy visit at Lagos House, Marina.
Sanwo-Olu congratulated Prince Kazeem, a former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos State, on his emergence as President of the Society. He described the new leadership as capable and well-equipped to build on the Society’s legacy of community service and social development.
“We commend the interventions of Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria and Overseas over the years,” the governor said.
“The Society has continued to make positive impacts, especially in education and healthcare, while also collaborating with government in advocacy, security and public enlightenment. We will continue to support your efforts to ensure this tenure achieves even greater success.”
In his remarks, Prince Kazeem reaffirmed the Society’s dedication to advancing education, healthcare, and social welfare in partnership with the Lagos State Government.
He noted that the visit provided an opportunity to deepen collaboration between government and faith-based organisations in promoting inclusive development and moral rejuvenation across the state.
“For over a century, Ansar-Ud-Deen has remained committed to quality education, moral discipline and community service guided by Islamic values,” he said.
“We see ourselves as a dependable partner to the Lagos State Government in achieving the vision of a Greater Lagos that is inclusive, prosperous and peaceful.”
The Society’s President commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for his leadership and visible progress in infrastructure, education, and social welfare, pledging the Society’s continued prayers and support for the administration.
He also called for stronger collaboration between government and faith-based groups to expand social impact through joint initiatives in education, health and welfare programmes, promote interfaith harmony and build capacity for religious leaders in governance and transparency.
