In another impactful stride toward infrastructural development and improved quality of life in Epe Federal Constituency, Rep. Wale Raji, the member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives, has facilitated the installation of solar-powered streetlights along Mafowosofo Street in Agbowa, under Ikosi-Ejinrin Local Council Development Area (LCDA).

EpeInsights gathered that the project, one of several constituency interventions executed by the lawmaker, has transformed the once dark and underutilized link road into a lively, secure, and economically active corridor.

Once a quiet and nearly impassable street, Mafowosofo has now become a hub of renewed community life. With the streetlights now illuminating the area, residents say they feel safer, businesses are staying open later, and young people are engaging in vibrant night-time football and social activities, rekindling the spirit of togetherness in the neighborhood.

“This street used to be so dark that we could barely move around after sunset,” said one resident. “Now, thanks to Hon. Wale Raji, we have light, safety, and energy in our community again.”

During a late-night inspection of the area, residents expressed heartfelt appreciation to Rep. Raji for what many described as “bringing light, both literally and figuratively, into our lives.” Applause from the community reflected deep gratitude for a project that is already making tangible impact at the grassroots.

According to a statement signed by Kaka Babatunde, Senior Legislative Aide on Media and Youth Affairs to the lawmaker, the solar streetlight initiative is part of a wider, ongoing effort to improve infrastructure and security across the constituency.

Communities earmarked to benefit in the next phase include Abule Saga, Araromi, Ajaganabe, Agbowa Sawmill, Ito-Omu, Etita and several others.

Rep. Raji assured constituents that the project would continue in phases until every major community in Epe Federal Constituency enjoys the benefits of reliable, clean and sustainable street lighting.

“The solar streetlight distribution is ongoing, continuous, and executed in phases,” the statement quoted him as saying.

The development underscores Rep. Raji’s longstanding commitment to fulfilling his campaign promises, improving community safety, stimulating economic activity and fostering a sense of unity among residents.

“This project is not just about light; it’s about hope, safety and opportunity,” the statement concluded.
