Lagos State Government’s has pledged its commitment to equitable and quality education.
EpeInsights reports that the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary of Education District III, TR. Osinaike Olusegun Olawale, who recently embarked on a courtesy visit to 18 schools in the riverine areas of the district.
The visit, part of his continuous effort to ensure that no learner is left behind, reaffirms the Lagos State Government’s vision to deliver inclusive education across all environments—urban, rural, and riverine.
During the tour, Osinaike interacted with students and staff, taking time to assess classroom conditions, teaching practices, and students’ general welfare.
He commended schools where teachers were punctual, neatly dressed, and maintaining discipline, describing them as “true ambassadors of excellence that Education District III is known for.”
The Tutor-General also encouraged school heads to remain diligent, uphold the values of integrity and excellence, and ensure effective classroom engagement throughout the term.
This session, the Lagos State Government has rolled out a series of initiatives aimed at strengthening teaching quality, expanding digital learning tools and improving student welfare.
Among these efforts are the ongoing EKOEXCEL digital transformation programme, continuous teacher retraining workshops, and rehabilitation of school infrastructure across districts.
The government’s school feeding and learning support initiatives have also been sustained to encourage attendance and reduce dropout rates.
Osinaike’s riverine school visit reflects the Lagos State Government’s broader agenda under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus development plan, which prioritizes education and technology as key pillars of sustainable growth.
As the term progresses, Education District III’s leadership continues to emphasize supervision, mentorship, and teacher motivation as tools for maintaining the district’s academic excellence.
For many educators, Osinaike’s presence in these often-overlooked communities serves as a morale booster, a reminder that every teacher’s effort counts, and every child’s learning journey matters.
