Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government and Chairman of Conference 57, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has inaugurated the new Executive Committee of the Lagos State Council of Traders and Artisans (LASCOTA).
Epe Insights reports that the newly inaugurated Exco will be led by Comrade Sesan Alase as Chairman, marking a fresh leadership phase for the traders’ umbrella body in Lagos State.

LASCOTA represents registered trade associations, tradesmen, and artisans across the state, advocating for welfare, skills development, digital inclusion, and sustainable economic growth.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hon. Olowa congratulated the new leadership and urged them to lead with integrity, unity, and innovation.
He charged the Exco to work closely with the government at all levels to address the needs of traders and artisans.

According to him, the inauguration signals renewed commitment to empowerment, training, and digital literacy within the informal sector.
The new Chairman, Comrade Sesan Alase, expressed appreciation for the support received and pledged to prioritise members’ welfare and peaceful coexistence among trade groups.

He assured stakeholders of alignment with state policies aimed at strengthening economic inclusion and productivity.
Dignitaries at the event included Hon. Adewale Raheem Kazeem, Hon. Wasiu Olaomopo Aiyeola, Hon. Ogungbo Temitope Sofwan, Alhaja Mobi Raji, and Alhaja Eshinlokun Elepete.

Stakeholders described the event as a strategic move to deepen collaboration between the government and the informal sector in Lagos State.
