The ancient Odo Noforija Kingdom in the Epe Division of Lagos State is set to come alive with cultural pride and royal traditions as it prepares to host its annual Ẹēbi Festival under the esteemed leadership of His Royal Majesty, the Aladeshonyin of Odo Noforija, Oba Babatunde Ogunlade.
EpeInsights reports that the festival slated for April 18, 2025, will feature the sacred rites of Ìgòdò and Kilajolu, two revered ceremonial figures in the kingdom’s cultural heritage.
The event promises to be a vibrant celebration of tradition, unity, and the enduring legacy of the Odo Noforija people.
In an official announcement, the palace extended warm invitations to royal majesties, chiefs, and well-wishers from far and near to join in the festivities.
The royal message, signed on behalf of the Aladeshonyin, expressed deep appreciation in advance for the support and goodwill of all attendees.
The Ẹēbi Festival remains a cornerstone of cultural identity for the Odo Noforija community, serving as a platform for spiritual renewal, ancestral homage, and communal bonding.
As part of the festivities, the symbolic Okoro masquerade will carry firewood representing the community’s burdens and any lingering evils to the river, symbolically cleansing and purifying the area.

Following this ritual, Okoro will make a ceremonial return, after which Kabiyesi will offer prayers, invoking peace, tranquility, and prosperity for the entire community.
