The Orimedu Kingdom came alive in celebration as His Royal Majesty, Oba Abidemi Toheeb Yissa Oyedele (Oyetu I), the Orimedu of Orimedu Kingdom, marked his birthday anniversary at his palace amidst grandeur, culture, and community spirit.
EpeInsights learnt that the event drew a distinguished gathering of traditional rulers, political leaders, community stakeholders and residents, all united in honouring a monarch whose reign has been marked by compassion, youth empowerment and developmental impact.
Among those present was the National President of the Federation of Epe Division Students’ Association (FEDSA), Comrade Adesanya Ibrahim, who joined the people of Orimedu to felicitate with the royal father.
As part of the celebration, Oba Oyedele demonstrated his enduring commitment to education and community welfare through a ₦100,000 bursary award to 50 indigent students of Orimedu origin currently studying in various tertiary institutions.
The monarch also disbursed ₦200,000 business grants to 120 small-scale entrepreneurs and widows, an initiative aimed at promoting self-reliance and alleviating poverty within the community.
Speaking at the event, Comrade Ibrahim described the king’s gesture as “a shining example of what true royalty represents compassion, vision, and action.”
He praised the monarch for using his position to transform lives and empower the next generation.
“This is not just a celebration of a birthday; it is a celebration of leadership that touches lives. Kabiyesi’s consistent investment in education and economic empowerment continues to inspire hope and progress among his people,” he stated.
The colourful ceremony featured cultural performances, prayers, and words of goodwill from dignitaries who lauded the monarch’s impactful reign.
Comrade Ibrahim concluded his message with prayers for the royal father’s continued good health, wisdom, and long life on the throne, expressing optimism that Orimedu Kingdom will continue to flourish under his dynamic leadership.
