The National Youth Council of Nigeria, Epe Branch, has sensitised youths across Epe Local Government Area on the benefits of technical and vocational education as a pathway to employment and self-reliance.

Epe Insights reports that the awareness drive was conducted under the Federal Technical and Vocational Education and Training admission programme, aimed at equipping young people with practical and industry-relevant skills.

The programme for Epe youths is sponsored by Hon. Abiodun Tobun, Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Epe Constituency I, as part of his commitment to youth empowerment and human capital development.

Speaking during the sensitisation exercise, Hon. Tobun said the TVET programme provides hands-on training in critical sectors, including engineering, construction, business, and information technology.

He explained that the initiative is structured to deliver practical skills that enhance employability and promote economic independence among youths.

Training areas available include welding and fabrication, automobile mechanics, electrical and solar installations, plumbing and pipe fitting, furniture making and carpentry, computer and GSM maintenance, catering, printing, and other vocational skills.

Hon. Tobun also highlighted incentives attached to the programme, including free tuition and examinations, monthly stipends, dual certification, and post-graduation grants with job placement opportunities.

NYCN Epe noted that these benefits are designed to reduce financial burdens on families while positioning beneficiaries for sustainable careers.

The council commended Hon. Tobun for his consistent support for youth-focused initiatives and grassroots development.

It urged youths, parents, and guardians in Epe to take advantage of the programme by registering promptly, noting that available slots are limited.

The TVET admission has commenced and is expected to boost socio-economic development across Epe and Lagos State.
