Hon. Princess Surah Olayemi Animashaun’s campaign for a second term as Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government received a major boost on Tuesday as the Epe Corporate Social Support Network Foundation threw its weight behind her at the All Progressives Congress (APC) mega rally held at the Epe Recreation Centre.
EpeInsights reports that the event, described as one of the largest political rallies in the division in recent years, brought together residents, party loyalists, traditional leaders, youth organisations and community groups.
The atmosphere was filled with chants, placards and party songs in a strong show of unity and support for APC candidates ahead of the July 12 local government elections.
Coordinator of the Foundation, Alhaja Aminat Shabi praised Princess Surah for her selfless leadership and commitment to community development.
She highlighted the chairman’s achievements in infrastructure, youth engagement, and social inclusion as key reasons behind the group’s endorsement.
The rally saw the attendance of several APC stalwarts, including Alhaji Shakirudeen Akanni Seriki (Bamu), the party’s apex leader in Epe Division; Rt. Hon. Adeyemi Ikuforiji, former Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly; Hon. Wale Raji, Member of the House of Representatives representing Epe Federal Constituency; Hon. Abiodun Tobun and Hon. Sylvester Ogunkelu of the Lagos State House of Assembly; Barrister Saidat Olayinka Oladunjoye, Federal Commissioner at the National Population Commission; and Yeye Olayinka Olusanya, Lagos APC State Vice-Chairman (East).
Addressing the crowd, Rt. Hon. Ikuforiji called on all party members to treat the upcoming local elections with the seriousness of a general election. He urged residents to vote en masse for APC candidates including Princess Surah Animashaun, Monsuru Akinloye and Wale Raji-Anomo.
Hon. Wale Raji echoed this call, stressing the importance of political continuity and alignment, noting that Epe has experienced remarkable development under the APC’s leadership.
Barrister Oladunjoye and Yeye Olusanya encouraged women and young people to take the campaign to the grassroots, citing the achievements of the party’s candidates in their respective councils as proof of their effectiveness in office.
In her speech, Princess Surah expressed heartfelt gratitude to supporters and party stakeholders. She reaffirmed her commitment to building on the successes of her first term and promised to continue championing inclusive development that benefits all residents of Epe.
“I am humbled by the show of love and confidence. Together, we will build a stronger Epe that works for everyone,” she said.
As the countdown to the July 12 elections continues, the rally served as a powerful demonstration of unity and momentum behind the APC campaign in Epe Division.
