Lekki Local Council Development Area has completed the rehabilitation of a public primary school facility damaged by a windstorm, restoring safety and learning activities.

Epe Insights reports that the intervention was carried out under the leadership of the Executive Chairman of Lekki LCDA, Engr. Rasaki Bamidele Kasali (MNSE, MNATE), as part of efforts to ensure quality basic education.

The windstorm had caused extensive damage to the school structure, disrupting academic activities and raising safety concerns for pupils and teachers.

In response, the Lekki LCDA administration embarked on a comprehensive restoration project to improve functionality and create a conducive learning environment.

The rehabilitation included the installation of a new roof and ceiling, fresh interior and exterior painting, and the laying of new flooring.

Improved toilet facilities were also provided, alongside the replacement of damaged windows and doors.

To enhance teaching and learning, the school was equipped with new whiteboards and a dedicated library space aimed at promoting reading culture.

Engr. Kasali stated that the intervention reflects his administration’s strong commitment to education and child safety.

He noted that providing a safe and dignified learning environment remains a top priority for the council.

According to him, a timely response to infrastructure challenges is critical to protecting the future of children within the local government area.

The completed project has significantly improved the safety, comfort, and overall learning atmosphere of the school.

Teaching and learning activities have since resumed without disruption.

The rehabilitation forms part of Lekki LCDA’s broader education development agenda focused on upgrading school infrastructure.

The council reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening basic education and improving access to quality learning facilities across communities.
