The Lekki Local Council Development Area has partnered with the Lagos State Office of Sustainable Development Goals and Health District III to organise a health outreach programme for elderly residents within the council area.

Epe Insights reports that the initiative, tagged Care for the Elderly, was held at Idotun Primary Health Centre, where senior citizens received free medical checks and basic healthcare services.

The outreach focused on improving access to essential health services for older adults, many of whom face challenges obtaining routine medical care. Beneficiaries underwent blood pressure checks, blood sugar tests, and general medical consultations.

Health professionals were on the ground to guide the management of age-related conditions, medication adherence, and healthy lifestyle practices. Participants also received counselling on preventive healthcare measures.

Council officials stated that the programme aligns with broader efforts to promote inclusive healthcare delivery at the grassroots level. They noted that the well-being of senior citizens remains a priority in local governance.
