As part of early preparations for the 2025 Christian pilgrimage, the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board (CPWB) has kicked off its annual sensitisation campaign, calling on Local Government leaders to play a more active role in supporting the spiritual lives of their constituents.
EpeInsights reports that the Board Secretary, Dr. Gbolabo Okudero, visited key local government councils—including Mushin, Isolo, and Ejigbo Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs)—to rally support and create awareness around the upcoming pilgrimage.
In Mushin, the delegation was received by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Olanrewaju Bamgboye, while Council Managers Mrs. Ogabi M.F. and Dr. Olusegun Ajaguna hosted the CPWB team in Isolo and Ejigbo respectively, standing in for their Chairmen, Otunba Adebayo Olasoju and Hon. Monsurudeen Oloyede Bello.

Dr. Okudero used the visit to highlight the vital role of spiritual well-being in building morally sound and progressive communities. “Governance should go beyond infrastructure and economy; it must also nurture the soul of the people,” he stated.
He outlined the Board’s roadmap for the 2025 pilgrimage and encouraged local authorities to help drive participation by mobilising Christians across their communities.
The sensitisation tour marks the beginning of CPWB’s mobilisation efforts, as the Board continues to champion the cause of spiritual development and moral renewal in Lagos State.
Recall that Dr. Gbolabo Okudero was recently appointed as the new Board Secretary for the Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board.
The Board held a handover ceremony where the outgoing Secretary, Mrs. Florence Yetunde Gbafe, reflected on her rewarding eight-year tenure and expressed gratitude for her time with the board. She spoke highly of Dr. Okudero, emphasing his strong Christian values and professional integrity.
In his remarks, Dr. Okudero assured all members of staff of his commitment to continuing the Board’s legacy of service and excellence and emphasised teamwork and unity within the Agency and sought the support of the workforce to ensure the continuity of the outstanding work established by Mrs. Gbafe.
