In a deliberate effort to foster stronger collaboration and enhance productivity, the Lagos State Lands Bureau recently organised a three-day retreat for its senior personnel.

EpeInsights reports that the retreat themed “Excellence in Teamwork: Collaborating for Success in Lands Bureau” was held at Jubilee Chalets, Epe, in partnership with the Skills & Career Support Centre and Academy Consulting.

The event served as a platform to reinforce the importance of teamwork, leadership, and strategic alignment within the Bureau, as well as across related government agencies.

Declaring the retreat open, the Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Bode Agoro, commended the Bureau’s workforce for their dedication to public service.

He highlighted teamwork as a critical ingredient in achieving organisational goals and encouraged participants to deepen internal collaboration and align their efforts with the broader objectives of the State Government.

Also speaking at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Lands Bureau, Mr. Kamar Olowoshago, urged staff to prioritise their well-being while maintaining a commitment to continuous professional development.

He emphasized the importance of inclusivity, mentorship, and peer-to-peer support particularly among senior officers—stating that such values are essential to building a resilient and efficient institution.

The retreat featured a variety of interactive sessions, leadership workshops, and team-building exercises designed to sharpen participants’ communication, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills.

These sessions were tailored to equip participants with tools for more effective decision-making and collaboration in the public sector environment.

The programme also attracted the participation of several top government officials, including the Chairman, House Committee on Lands, Hon. Others are; Permanent Secretaries from key MDAs such as the State Treasury Office, Office of Environment, Debt Management Office, Local Government, Public Service Office, Office of Infrastructure, and the Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment.

Their presence reinforced the value of inter-agency cooperation and collective learning.

By bringing together leadership from multiple sectors and departments, the retreat highlighted the Lagos State Government’s ongoing commitment to nurturing a collaborative, high-performing public service culture.

It further demonstrated the Lands Bureau’s proactive steps toward aligning its operations with the state’s vision of an efficient, inclusive, and service-driven civil service.
