Lagos Health Commission Launches Statewide Hospital Tour to Boost Service Delivery, Staff Welfare

In a bid to strengthen healthcare delivery and boost staff morale, the Lagos State Health Service Commission (HSC) has kicked off a comprehensive fact-finding tour across the state’s 30 General Hospitals.

EpeInsights reports that this initiative underscores the Lagos State Government’s commitment to maintaining high standards across public health facilities and ensuring that healthcare professionals are well supported as they serve the state’s growing population.

The mission, which began with visits to Harvey Road General Hospital, Mainland Hospital (IDH), and Somolu General Hospital, is part of the Commission’s 2025 strategy to assess operational performance and engage directly with frontline medical teams.

Led by Chairman, Dr. (Mrs.) Atinuke Onayiga, the visiting delegation is also using the opportunity to formally introduce newly appointed Commission Members to hospital leadership.

“Prioritising the well-being of healthcare workers is key to improving service delivery and maintaining professional dedication, with the addition of new members, our Commission is now better positioned to advocate for the needs of both staff and patients.” Dr. Onayiga said during one of the engagements.

The high-powered delegation includes Dr. Olumuyiwa Adetokunbo Solanke, Dr. Mobolaji Ayotunde Olukoya, and new appointees Dr. (Pharm.) Moyosore Adejumo and Dr. (Nurse) Ololade Fadipe. Officials from the Medical Services Department, including Dr. Olubunmi Adebiyi and Dr. Zainab Salisu, along with Mrs. Olufunmilayo Meadows from Administration and Human Resources, also joined the mission.

Each hospital visit features in-depth discussions with medical directors and hospital management on issues ranging from staff welfare and infrastructure gaps to strategies for more efficient healthcare delivery.
