In a major push to deliver quality healthcare to residents at the grassroots, the Lagos State Government, through Health District II, in partnership with the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila and the Taiwan Root Medical Peace Corps, has launched a comprehensive free medical outreach for residents of Agboyi-Ori Omi in Agboyi-Ketu LCDA.

EpeInsights reports that the four-day outreach, which kicked off on Monday, October 6, 2025, will run through Thursday, October 9, providing a wide range of medical services including general consultations, dental and eye care, blood pressure and sugar level checks, tuberculosis and HIV screening, and free distribution of eyeglasses and medications.

More than 1,000 residents have already benefited from the programme, which aligns with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s THEMES Plus Agenda — particularly its focus on expanding access to preventive and community-based healthcare.

Representing Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila at the flag-off ceremony, Hon. Desmond Elliot (Surulere Constituency I) reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to improving healthcare delivery for Nigerians, especially at the community level, in line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.Lagos Govt, Gbajabiamila Partner Taiwan Medical Team for Free Health Outreach in Agboyi-Ketu

The Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Health District II, Dr. Dayo Lajide, expressed appreciation to all partners involved in the outreach, noting that the initiative exemplifies the Sanwo-Olu administration’s drive to take healthcare to the doorsteps of Lagosians. “Our mission is simple — to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable to everyone, regardless of location or status,” she said.

Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu LCDA, Hon. Tola Abubakar, applauded the partnership, describing it as a reflection of the synergy between federal and state efforts to improve citizens’ wellbeing. She praised President Tinubu’s leadership, saying his “vision of touching lives one citizen at a time” is being clearly felt in communities like Agboyi-Ketu.

The Olu of Agboyi Kingdom, Oba (Engr.) Monsuru Abimbola Ladega, commended the organisers for what he termed a “milestone in public health engagement,” while expressing gratitude for the positive impact on his community.

Speaking on behalf of the Taiwan medical team, Dr. Shufang Okorie thanked the Lagos State Government for its hospitality and reaffirmed the group’s commitment to strengthening healthcare partnerships in Nigeria.

The outreach will continue with sessions at the Ketu Primary Healthcare Centre on Tuesday, October 7, and at Ikorodu Italewa PHC on Wednesday and Thursday, October 8–9, 2025.

Residents of Agboyi-Ketu hailed the initiative as a life-changing opportunity, with many describing it as a timely intervention that brought free, quality healthcare directly to their doorstep.
