Pupils of Ilara Model Primary School visited Augustine University, Ilara-Epe, on Monday, December 15, 2025, as part of an educational excursion designed to broaden their learning experience beyond the classroom.
Epe Insights reports that the excursion exposed the pupils to a university environment, offering them early insight into tertiary education through guided interactions with staff and tours of academic and support facilities.

Welcoming the pupils, the Vice-Chancellor of Augustine University, Prof. Akinwale, described education as the foundation for personal development and national progress, urging the young learners to cultivate curiosity and discipline.
He noted that early exposure to a higher institution helps nurture ambition, confidence, and a lifelong passion for learning among children.

During the visit, the pupils embarked on guided tours of key facilities, gaining practical understanding of various academic disciplines in a structured and serene setting.
Facilities visited included the Science Laboratories, Child and Maternal Health Laboratory, Anatomy Laboratory, Chapel of Mary Mother of the Church, AUI Radio Studio, Photo and Television Studios, Lady Doja Otedola Faculty of Engineering, AUI Water Factory, St. Bernadette’s Health Centre, and the Language Laboratory.


University officials observed that the pupils’ enthusiasm highlighted the value of experiential learning in stimulating early academic interest and aspiration.
