In a renewed push to deepen staff performance and improve public service delivery, the Executive Chairman of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. (Engr.) Abdullahi Sesan Olowa has launched a comprehensive capacity-building workshop for management and junior officers across all departments of the council.

Epe Insights reports that the multi-day training is designed to improve administrative competence, strengthen work ethics, enhance communication skills, and introduce modern approaches to governance in line with global best practices. The initiative reflects the council’s commitment to investing in its workforce as a key driver of sustainable development.

Representing the Chairman at the event, the Ag. Council Manager, Mrs Avoseh Senami Oluwakemi, noted that the workshop aligns with the administration’s broader vision of empowering staff with the right tools and knowledge to meet the rising expectations of residents.

“This training demonstrates our strong commitment to equipping our staff with the necessary skills to meet the increasing demands of our people and support the district’s ongoing growth,” she stated. “An efficient workforce is the backbone of any progressive government, and Ibeju-Lekki cannot afford to lag.”

Also speaking, the Head of Administration and Human Resource Department, Mr Sotubo Adeyemi Oladipupo, emphasised the need for continuous learning and professional growth. He reiterated that the council would sustain its investment in human capital development to ensure innovation, productivity, and improved service standards.

“We will continue to organise more training programs to ensure that our officers remain competent, adaptive, and well-prepared for emerging challenges in public service,” he said.

Facilitators at the workshop delivered sessions on administrative processes, effective communication, workplace ethics, leadership essentials, and result-oriented service delivery. They stressed that a rapidly developing region like Ibeju-Lekki requires a proactive workforce driven by knowledge, discipline, and strategic thinking.

Participants expressed deep appreciation to the local government, noting that the knowledge gained would not only enhance their individual performance but also contribute significantly to the development of the Ibeju-Lekki community.
