The Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, has directed the Environmental Services Department and the enforcement task force to immediately conduct another clearance operation at the affected U-turn.
Epe Insights reports that Fresh refuse has resurfaced at the Container U-turn in Awoyaya, days after a comprehensive cleanup by sanitation officials in Ibeju-Lekki.
The local government sanitation team had cleared the same location using garbage collection tricycles as part of intensified environmental enforcement across Awoyaya and neighbouring communities, including Lakowe, Losoro, and Ogunfayo.

Authorities described the renewed dumping as a deliberate violation that threatens public health, road safety, and the environmental goals of the council. Officials said the act undermines sustained efforts to keep emerging communities clean and attractive for residents and investors.
He also ordered enhanced surveillance and routine patrols around the Awoyaya Container axis and other identified black spots within the local government.
The council reaffirmed its zero-tolerance stance on illegal dumping, warning that offenders will face strict penalties. Officials confirmed that arrests and fines have already been recorded in similar incidents.

Residents, traders, and business owners around the Awoyaya corridor have been urged to report suspicious dumping activities to the nearest local government office or environmental authorities.
The administration assured that anonymous reports would be treated confidentially and encouraged community participation in safeguarding the environment.

The council reiterated its commitment to sustained sanitation drives and stronger enforcement measures to maintain cleanliness and promote a healthier living environment across Ibeju-Lekki.
