The Council Leader of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government, Hon. Olayinka Mojeed Oluwafemi, has congratulated the people of Ibeju-Lekki on the occasion of Democracy Day, urging continued participation in democratic processes and community development.
EpeInsights reports that in his Democracy Day message released, Hon. Oluwafemi saluted the resilience, hard work, and peaceful nature of residents in the local government, noting that democracy thrives when citizens are engaged, law-abiding and united.
“Today, we celebrate the enduring spirit of democracy, an ideal that gives every citizen a voice, promotes inclusive governance, and drives the collective progress of our nation,” he said.
He paid tribute to those who fought for the country’s democratic freedom and reaffirmed the local council’s commitment to justice, equity and effective governance.
Hon. Oluwafemi assured residents that the leadership of Ibeju-Lekki, under the guidance of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa, remains committed to development, improved social welfare and the creation of sustainable opportunities for all.
“Our administration will continue to work in unity, peace, and transparency to build a stronger, more prosperous Ibeju-Lekki,” he said.
The Council Leader called on residents to use the day as a reminder that democracy is a shared responsibility and encouraged active civic participation to sustain democratic gains.
“May the spirit of democracy continue to guide our actions and bring lasting progress to Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, and Nigeria at large,” he concluded.
