The Ibeju-Lekki Local Government has celebrated a significant milestone in its ongoing commitment to educational advancement, as 11 students from the area have been awarded scholarships to study at Pan Atlantic University (PAU).
EpeInsights gathered that the beneficiaries earned this opportunity through their exceptional performance in the West African Examination Council (WAEC) emerging as some of the brightest academic talents in the region.
The scholarship initiative is the result of a partnership between Pan Atlantic University and the Hon. Abdullahi Sesan Olowa-led administration of Ibeju-Lekki Local Government.
It is designed to make quality tertiary education more accessible to deserving students, while also serving as a motivation for others to aim for excellence.
The award covers an impressive 98% of tuition costs, while the local government has pledged to fund the remaining 2%, which will go toward hostel accommodation and essential study materials.
Speaking at the presentation, Hon. Olowa commended the students for their dedication and hard work, describing their achievement as a reflection of the value of the weekend tutorial classes organised by the local government.
He stressed that the initiative was part of a deliberate strategy to raise the standard of education in Ibeju-Lekki, ensuring that students from the area can compete on both national and international stages.
“We are committed to giving our young people the tools they need to excel,” Hon. Olowa stated.
“This collaboration with Pan Atlantic University is not just about scholarships, it is a long-term investment in the future of Ibeju-Lekki. Our goal is to create a generation of scholars who will contribute meaningfully to the development of our community and our nation.”
