Gateway Games: Fatodu Rallies Team Lagos, Promises Unwavering Support Ahead of National Sports Festival

As the countdown begins for the 22nd National Sports Festival “Gateway Games” set to take place in Ogun State, the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) has reaffirmed its commitment to empowering its athletes and delivering a standout performance on the national stage.

EpeInsights learnt that during a morale-boosting visit to the Mobolaji Johnson Sports Centre, Rowe Park, the Director-General of the LSSC, Lekan Fatodu, commended Team Lagos athletes for their courage, dedication, and discipline as they enter the final phase of their preparations in a two-week intensive training camp.

“I will continue to champion your needs, ensuring you receive what you rightfully deserve,” Fatodu stated, assuring the athletes of the state’s full backing.

“Lagos appreciates your relentless drive and commitment. We are laying the groundwork for you to achieve even greater success.” He stated.

Fatodu highlighted the state’s continued investment in elite training facilities and athlete welfare, reiterating that Lagos is focused on not only competing but excelling.

He also announced the introduction of instant performance-based awards, an initiative designed to immediately recognize and reward outstanding athletes during the Games.

“This is the finest team anyone could assemble. I’m proud of Team Lagos—confident, disciplined, and built for victory,” he added.

Team captain Olowolayemo Adewale Sikiru praised the Commission’s responsiveness and leadership, specifically thanking Mr. Fatodu for swiftly addressing the athletes’ needs in the run-up to the festival.

He assured that the entire team is committed to upholding the values of excellence and sportsmanship.
