The Epe Local Government Area is set to host two major community events this festive season as part of efforts to promote social inclusion, economic empowerment, and family-friendly celebrations across the council.

Epe Insights reports that the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah O. Animashaun, has announced plans to host a large-scale Children’s Christmas Party alongside the Epe City Trade Fair.

According to the Chairman, the Children’s Christmas Party is designed to be the biggest and most memorable festive celebration for children across Epe.

The event is open to children from all wards within the local government area and aims to create a joyful and safe environment where young residents can celebrate the season together.

The initiative reflects the council’s focus on child welfare, social bonding, and inclusive governance.

Hon. Animashaun noted that the festive season provides an opportunity to bring smiles to children’s faces, especially at a time when many families face economic pressures.

She explained that the Christmas party will feature entertainment, games, and activities tailored to children, reinforcing the importance of nurturing happiness and community spirit among the younger generation.

In addition to the children-focused celebration, the Epe City Trade Fair has been scheduled for Sunday, December 21, 2025, at the Epe Recreational Centre.

The trade fair is expected to attract traders, entrepreneurs, artisans, and residents from within and outside Epe, serving as a platform to showcase local products, services, and business opportunities.

The Chairman described the trade fair as a strategic initiative to boost local commerce and support small and medium-scale enterprises within the council area.

She noted that the event aligns with the broader economic agenda of the Lagos State Government, which prioritizes grassroots economic growth and community-based enterprise development.

The trade fair is also expected to foster networking among business owners, encourage patronage of locally made goods, and strengthen Epe’s reputation as an emerging commercial and cultural hub within Lagos State.

Organizers say the fair will feature exhibitions, sales points, and interactive sessions designed to connect producers with consumers.

As preparations continue, the local government has assured residents of adequate planning, security, and coordination to ensure smooth and successful events. Community members have been encouraged to participate actively and support the initiatives, which are expected to draw significant attendance.
